General Summary
At QC’s Customer Automation Engineering (CAE) organization, we enable mobile network operators to deploy, scale, and operationalize advanced RAN automation and orchestration solutions. Our work sits at the intersection of RAN engineering, automation platforms, and real‑world network operations.
As a RAN Automation Delivery Expert, you will be part of a global team responsible for delivering and operationalizing SMO / SON / RAN automation solutions in live customer networks. You will work closely with customer engineering teams, internal product and R&D organizations, and field stakeholders to turn complex RAN challenges into scalable, automated outcomes.
This role is ideal for experienced, talented RAN engineers who want to move beyond manual optimization and play a hands‑on role in designing, coding, and onboarding automation applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver, operate, and optimize RAN automation / SMO solutions in multi‑technology (5G, LTE) and multi‑vendor environments.
- Design, develop, and onboard new automation applications and use cases, translating RAN optimization requirements into application logic, workflows, and policies.
- Own the end‑to‑end application lifecycle, including coding, integration, configuration, validation, deployment, and steady‑state operation in customer networks.
- Analyze network performance data and KPIs to drive post‑launch optimization actions and verify measurable improvements.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across RAN behavior, application logic, data pipelines, and automation platforms, including customer escalations and root‑cause analysis.
- Act as a trusted technical interface to customer RAN, OSS, and automation teams, while collaborating closely with internal product and R&D organizations.
- Conduct technical workshops, presentations, and operational handovers, and contribute best practices and reusable assets to improve delivery efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in wireless networks, with strong exposure to 5G and LTE (UMTS/GSM knowledge is a plus).
- Solid understanding of RAN architecture, optimization techniques, interfaces, KPIs, and performance monitoring.
- Proven experience working in multi‑vendor RAN environments (e.g., Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, ZTE, Samsung).
- Demonstrated ability to propose and execute network optimization changes and track impact against KPIs.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, preferably Python.
- Strong customer‑facing skills with a service‑driven, delivery‑oriented mindset.
- Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with Network Automation, SON, or SMO platforms.
- Experience designing or onboarding automation applications (e.g., rApps / automation services).
- Familiarity with OSS systems in multi‑vendor environments.
- Experience working with Linux‑based systems.
- Working knowledge of databases and data platforms (e.g., MySQL, Vertica, MongoDB).
- Exposure to AI‑assisted development tools and workflows, such as:
- AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
- Prompt‑driven or “vibe coding” approaches to accelerate prototyping and automation logic development
- Experience supporting live commercial networks and production systems.
