We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, test, and implement key hardware components for our robots. You will work on complex mechanical designs, create prototypes, and ensure seamless integration of components into robotic systems. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking robotics projects in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
● Design mechanical parts using 3D CAD software that meet load conditions, industrial
design form factors, and durability requirements.
● Build and test prototypes to evaluate assembly, range of motion, and wire routing.
● Generate accurate 2D drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards.
● Collaborate with the GSM team to select suppliers and order parts.
● Inspect first articles, build test stands, and provide continuous support for part integration
on robot development platforms.
Required Qualifications:
● 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanics, Robotics,
Mechatronics, or a related field.
● Expertise in using 3D CAD software to design parts with complex geometry.
● Experience designing and building prototypes.
● Proficiency in simulation and analysis methodologies (e.g., FEA, MATLAB).
● Ability to write and maintain clean documentation for design processes.
● Material Design and Selection: Deep understanding of material properties, metallurgy,
and composites for designing with optimal performance.
● Familiarity with actuators such as strain-wave, planetary, or cycloidal mechanisms.
● Experience with electromechanical integration, including sensors, motors, motor drivers,
wire harnesses, and communication buses.
● Manufacturing Processes: Familiarity with techniques like CNC machining, injection
molding, casting, and sheet metal forming.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes.
● Experience working with contract manufacturers.
● Familiarity with CATIA V6.
● Wire harness design experience.
